California

California is one of the world's largest wine producing regions. Within its boundaries, there are numerous AVAs (American Viticultural Areas) with a wide array of climates, grapes varieties and production styles. More famous areas, such as Napa Valley and Sonoma County are supported by up and coming regions like Paso Robles or Santa Barbara County. Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay may be the King and Queen, but there are so many lesser known grapes which produce amazing wines, like Zinfandel or Sauvignon Blanc.
